Ohhhh, What Can I Do?
In this day and age, with all the problems going on in the world we have a tendency to feel as though those problems are directing our lives, and, while they may influence us on a day to day basis, rest assured that God is in control.
I was dealing with some problems a few months ago and, as I did, the unrest in the country seemed to add a crushing weight to it all. Admittedly, I tried to think of solutions on my own. And then I remembered God has given us the resources to deal with problems, whether personal ones or worldly issues.
In Phillipians 4, we're told this, "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice."
When problems seems to overtake you, try thinking of all the blessings the Lord has given you. It might be a wonderful spouse, it might be a good job, it might be overcoming an addiction, or even that beautiful, sunny day at one of your favorite places! Think about such things, and then ...... Praise God for the blessings you've realized. It does wonders for one's outlook on things!
